Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-09-07
1. The service
EdgeArena ("we", "us") is operated by EdgeArena, enterprise number 0880.084.265 (VAT BE 0880.084.265), Belgium. We operate a gamified skill platform where users place simulated ("paper") trades on real market prices. Users never deposit, hold or trade real money on the platform; the only paid element is the optional Boost Pass subscription described in section 5. EdgeArena is not a broker, exchange, investment adviser or financial institution and does not provide investment advice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally allowed to participate in skill-based competitions in your jurisdiction. One account per person. We may ask you to verify your identity before paying out any prize or profit share.
3. Paper accounts
Every user receives a virtual balance of $200,000 in simulated funds. Simulated balances have no monetary value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred or sold. We may reset, adjust or cap simulated balances at any time to keep the arena fair.
4. Weekly prizes
Leaderboard, division, sprint and jackpot prizes are free to enter: no purchase, deposit or subscription is ever required, and paying for a Boost Pass never changes anyone's odds, ranking or prize amount. Prizes are awarded based on simulated performance as measured by our systems. We may exclude results that we believe were obtained through bugs, price-feed errors, collusion, multi-accounting or any other conduct that undermines fair play.
4a. Season 0 (practice season)
Until 4 January 2027 EdgeArena runs Season 0. During Season 0 all prize amounts shown on the site are practice prizes: they illustrate what Season 1 will pay, but no money is paid out and no claim to a payout arises. Season 0 weekly winners are listed in the Hall of Fame and receive the Founder badge and one free month of Bronze. Season 1 starts on 4 January 2027 with real payouts and a launch pot of at least €500, plus 40% of the net price of every pass sold during Season 0. If we postpone that date, we will announce it at least 14 days in advance and every active pass month up to the new date will be refunded or extended free of charge, at your choice.
4b. Activity rule and holding time
Rankings reward consistency. A trader is ranked on the weekly board (and eligible for its prizes) only after at least 3 closed trades on 2 different days in that week, and on the monthly board after at least 9 closed trades on 5 different days in that month. Open positions close automatically after 14 days (one extension of 7 days is possible during the last 3 days); resting orders expire after 7 days. We may change these thresholds for future periods; the values in force are always shown on the leaderboard and in the FAQ.
4c. Automatic execution
Take-profit, stop-loss, liquidation, the holding-time limit and resting limit orders are applied by our servers to every account against our own price feed, whether or not you are logged in. A position can therefore be closed, and an order filled, while you are away; you see what happened when you next open the app. Fill prices follow the published rules (the level itself for take-profit and stop-loss, the feed's bid/ask with the market's spread otherwise). Our feed is delayed by roughly fifteen seconds and is the sole reference for all simulated fills; no claim can be based on a price shown elsewhere.
5. Boost Pass
The Boost Pass is an optional, monthly, automatically renewing subscription to additional platform features (a higher simulated leverage cap, priority access to certain sprints, the Founder badge and a locked-in price). It is a fee for a digital service. It is not a deposit, not a stake, not an entry fee for any competition, not an investment, and it does not improve your chances of winning any prize or give you any share of, claim on or right to the Arena Pool trading account or its results. Prices are shown in EUR including VAT. You can cancel at any time; the pass remains active until the end of the paid period and is not renewed afterwards. Because the service starts immediately at your express request, you agree that the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal lapses once the pass is activated; fees for a started period are not refunded except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
5a. Promo codes and owner access
We may issue promo codes that grant a Boost Pass tier for a limited time free of charge. A granted pass is a courtesy, has no cash value, can be withdrawn, is never counted as a sold pass and never changes prize pools or anyone's odds. Team members and administrators of EdgeArena may use unlocked tiers for testing and support; they are excluded from all prize ledgers.
6. Prize pools and Arena Pool
Prize pools are guaranteed and paid by EdgeArena from its own funds. As a voluntary, published top-up rule we add a share (currently 40%) of net Boost Pass revenue (after VAT and payment fees) on top of a guaranteed minimum that grows with the number of active passes, and we may top pools up at our discretion with a share of realised Arena Pool profit. The Arena Pool is EdgeArena's own trading account; its losses are never passed on to users and its profits never belong to users. Published pool amounts for a running period are not reduced afterwards.
7. Arena Pool mirror programme
The Arena Pool is EdgeArena's own account. It is funded with a published share (currently 35%) of net Boost Pass revenue and trades exclusively with EdgeArena's own funds, on the same prices and spreads members trade at. By published, code-enforced rules (shown on /pool) it mirrors strategies that meet minimum requirements for edge score, number of trades and drawdown. Being mirrored is automatic, free and not a service to you: you never deposit money, never trade real funds yourself, never pay anything and never own a share of the account. When a week closes in profit, a published share (currently 50%) of the realised profit is added to the next week's prize pools, and each mirrored strategy whose mirrored trades made money receives a mirror share (currently 10% of the realised pool profit of its own trades) as a prize under article 9. Losses are EdgeArena's alone and are never passed on. We may pause, change or end the programme for future periods at any time; a pause never affects prizes already recorded.
8. Fair play
You agree not to use automated trading bots, exploit latency or data errors, coordinate with other users, or otherwise manipulate rankings. Violations lead to disqualification and account termination.
8a. Invites, journal and e-mail
Your personal invite link may be shared with people who know you. Mass-mailing, paid advertising with the link, or creating accounts yourself to collect invite badges is not allowed and leads to removal of the badges. Journal notes are private; you may choose to show tag counts on your public page. We send transactional e-mails (security, billing, identity and payout decisions) and, unless you switch them off in Profile → E-mail, prize, invite and weekly summary e-mails.
9. Payouts and taxes
Real prizes (from the first payout date shown on the site) are paid by SEPA bank transfer to an EU bank account held in your own name. Before a prize can be paid we verify your identity once: you declare your full legal name, date of birth, address and country in the app, and we may ask you to show your identity document by video call. We never store a copy of the document. Prizes are approved and paid in batches, normally within 10 working days after the end of the period, and remain claimable for 90 days; unclaimed prizes flow back into the prize pools. Practice-season prizes are never paid. You are responsible for any taxes due on prizes in your country of residence. Boost Pass invoices are issued by EdgeArena via Stripe and are unrelated to prizes.
10. No guarantees
Simulated performance is not indicative of real trading results. We make no promise that you will win prizes, be selected for the mirror programme or earn any money.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EdgeArena is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, data-feed inaccuracies, downtime or the actions of other users. Our aggregate liability is limited to the prizes actually owed to you.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. Material changes will be announced in-app.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghent, Belgium.
